Privacy Policy

Last updated 1 August 2026 · Compliant with the Data Privacy Act of 2012 (RA 10173)

People will write their doubt and their grief into this app. That deserves a policy you can actually read, so here is one.

Three promises, before the detail.

We will never sell your data. We will never show you advertising. And nobody sees what you write — not another user, not an advertiser, not us idly — unless you explicitly choose to share something.

Who we are

Spiritly is operated by [Greater South, DTI-registered sole proprietorship] in Manila, Philippines. Our Data Protection Officer is Angel Abella, reachable at angel@livespiritly.com.

What we collect

WhatWhy
Email and passwordTo create your account and let you back in
First nameSo Spiritly can greet you as a person
Date of birthTo confirm you are eighteen or over. Never shown to anyone.
Life season (sensitive)Single, married, widowed and so on — so reflections meet you where you actually are
What fills your daysStudying, working, caring for someone — so the daily steps fit your actual life
Your reflections (sensitive)What you write each day, and the responses generated for you
Formation StageHow much Spiritly asks of you on a given day
Payment referenceYour GCash reference number, to match your payment to your account
Basic usage dataCrashes and errors, so we can fix what breaks

Under Philippine law, marital status and information revealing religious belief are sensitive personal information. Your life season and your reflections both fall into this category, which is why we ask for explicit consent before collecting either, and why they are held more carefully than the rest.

What we never collect

What we will ask for later

Spiritly is being built in stages. Two things will be asked for as later features open — and both will be optional, explained at the time, and never assumed:

If either of those is not something you want to share, Spiritly still works. You will simply not see the features that depend on them.

Who else sees it

WhoWhat they receive
Google — Gemini API, FirebaseYour reflections, to generate a response; and your account data, stored on Google Cloud. Subject to Google's own terms.
Competition organisers — Devpost, XPRIZEIf you have consented: your name, email and phone as evidence of real users. Only if you ticked the box.
Legal authoritiesOnly where compelled by valid legal process.

Nobody else. Ever. We do not sell, rent, or trade your information.

On the competition. Spiritly is entered in the Build with Gemini XPRIZE, which asks entrants to evidence real users. If you consented, your contact details may be shared with organisers and judges — who are bound by confidentiality. If you would rather they were not, write to us and we will anonymise you. It costs you nothing.

How it is protected

How long we keep it

Your rights

Under RA 10173 you may:

Write to angel@livespiritly.com and we will act within a reasonable time. There is no form and no fee.

Children

Spiritly is for those eighteen and over. We ask for date of birth at registration. If we learn an account belongs to a minor, we close it and delete the data.

Data leaving the Philippines

Because we use Google's services, some of your information is processed on servers outside the Philippines. Where that happens we require protection consistent with the Data Privacy Act.

Changes

If we change this materially we will tell you in the app or by email, and seek renewed consent where the law requires it.

An honest note. This policy was written by a founder in good faith and will be reviewed by a Philippine lawyer as Spiritly grows. If anything is unclear, or if you want to know exactly what we hold about you, just ask. A real person will answer.
